Ludovica (known as "Ludo" among friends) and her husband Antonio produce a tiny amount of artisanal wine from 20 acres of high-elevation vineyards just a short drive away from Panzano in Chianti. The Fabbri family started making wines around 1850, with the matriarch Paolina passionately developing the business until her passing at the age of 90 years. Ludo now carries on the winemaking heritage of her great grandmother.
Savignola Paolina produces a modest amount of wine, and is best known for its Chianti Classico normale and riserva vintages, both wonderfully showing off, well, the classic tastes of Chianti Classico. I'm a fan of her Chianti Classico Riserva, with a delightful nose of blackberries and black cherries, and fennel coming through from the wild herbs that often grow among the vineyard rows.
Ludo also makes a very interesting Super Tuscan known as Il Granaio (just 2000 bottles produced each year), made from 70% Sangiovese and 30% Merlot This tiny production gem explodes with a mouthful of blackberry, blueberry, dried figs and nice black cherry & currants coming through on the nose and palate. There's only 2,000 bottles made each year, so this is a rare treat for lovers of Super Tuscan wines.
Ludo will warmly welcome you into her cantina with a reservation. Just have your hotel make a call, or give her a call yourself. Ludo will gladly let you taste the wines and tour the cantina and vineyards to your heart's content.

i purchased several bottles at this winery and need an FDA# in order to send them back to the USA. i put the together with other bottles . I cannot find an e mail for the winery, can you please advise me. the # or how i can contact them.

The FDA registration number for wineries (and all food makers) is considered confidential by the FDA (see this for more info: https://www.fdahelp.us/fda-registration-number-search.html), and I don’t have Savignola Paolina’s number. I’m sure Ludo can supply it so you can get your wine shipped back.
