Gaja Barbaresco 2012

$174.00

GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE:
DIRECTLY IMPORTED FROM ITALY BY AIR

Angelo Gaja needs no introduction, and his 2012 Barbaresco is dense with super-ripe black fruits, dark cherries, tobacco, great stoney minerality. Sourced from his Sori Tilden and San Lorenzo cru wines since Angelo did not release them in 2012.

I’d lay this one down in your cellar for a while, but if you just can’t wait and want to pop a cork now, I’d pair this one with good fatty meats; think grilled ribeyes, hearty beef stews, and juicy pork sausages. Flash roasted leg of lamb served rare would go great with Angelo’s fabulous nebbiolo.

Note to Collectors — Here’s the good news: These bottles traveled first class, direct from Angelo’s cantina, so the provenance is as good as it gets. Here’s the not-so-good news: I’m limiting purchases to 3 bottles per buyer so I can spread the Gaja love to more fans. Actually, that’s good news, too.
