Voerzio Barolo La Serra 2011

$180.00

GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE:
DIRECTLY IMPORTED FROM ITALY BY AIR

Roberto's La Serra cru is much more masculine than his Roche dell'Annunziata, and I expect this will evolve beautifully over the next 30 years. Rich, dark black cherries, ripe plum, tobacco, herbal notes on the nose and palate, and some serious tannins. Very long finish.

When I tasted this in October of 2015, it was pretty closed down with grippy tannins. I'd simply decant this gently (from 1 bottle to another, don't go crazy with decanting Barolos), then let it sit for 2-3 hours if you're planning to drink it before 2018.

Collectors please note: This is direct from La Morra, flown over and babied in my Napa temp-controlled warehouse. Provenance doesn't get any better than this.
