2013 Barbera d’Alba from Bartolo Mascarello is a mind-blowing wine.
One of the best from the region and rivaling Giacomo Conterno’s 2013 Barbera, Maria Teresa’s 2013 vintage bursts with wonderfully ripe blackberries, black cherries, even a touch of blueberries with rich floral notes. This baby has layers. Acidity is perfectly in balance with the fruit.
These are probably the last bottles you’ll find in the US, and Bartolo fans will no doubt wipe them out. Enjoy!
