Wine barrels in a cantina

We’re all about Passion.

A passion for Italy, her wonderful wines, food & culture – that’s Dall’Uva.  We love Italy so much, we travel there often – over 8 times a year – looking for unique small-production wines & local foods, rich cultural events and stunning places to share with you.

We started Dall’Uva back in 2003 with a vision to bring you hand-selected Italian wines from small, artisan producers that follow ancient and time-tested methods of production while thoughtfully using sensible modern techniques in the vineyard and the cantina.  Our wines and their producers have stories to tell, and we’re here to share them.

The first traditional wine production methodEach month we explore the Italian peninsula, looking for that extraordinary Dolcetto that has been lovingly produced for hundreds of years by a family in a small town in Piedmont; a big, rich Brunello from noble vineyards overlooking the ancient Sant’Antimo church near Montalcino where monks still sing their daily chant; and even the rare Passito sweet wine from the tiny, wind-swept island of Pantelleria in the Mediterranean between Sicily and the African continent.  We find these gems, build enduring relationships with the people who produce them, and bring them home to share with you. It’s a labor of love.

Not just vino.

As Dall’Uva has evolved over the years, we’ve expanded our search to bring you more of Italy in all her splendor. That means hunting down small production olive oils, dried pasta made with ancient brass dies, and coffee lovingly roasted in a tiny coffee shop filled daily with locals.  While we can’t be in Italy all the time, bringing home some of her treasured gems gives us a daily dose of that wonderful place.

Enlightenment -- in this case, at the Pantheon in RomeAt Dall’Uva we’re also doing something new and completely different, something other importers simply don’t care to do — we’re helping to take the mystery out of Italian wine & food. Selecting a good wine you can have with nearly any meal can be quite easy.

Here on our website you will find helpful articles, tools, and Forum conversations for learning about Italian wines and the regions of Italy where they are produced. We even share with you some interesting, unusual facts about a wine or region that give the bottle a bit of soul.  All this work shows our commitment to you that the wine or pasta or coffee you are buying is quite extraordinary.
