The 2011 Mascarello Barolo is a remarkable vintage, drinkable now yet will lay down for 20+ years. Elegant complexity with sweet red cherries, a floral nose of dried rose, hints of crabapple, tobacco. Tannin++, as you'd expect for a youthful vintage, but I find this is a pleasure to drink now.
Mascarello always makes their Baroli with a blend of what's best in a given year, usually from their tiny holdings in Canubbi, San Lorenzo, Rue and Rocche di Annunziata. Everything is done by hand in the vineyards, and it is a labor of true love dating back 100 years.
Raving Mascarello fans will be happy to know that this wine has the best provenance, and flown direct from Barolo.
As with all Bartolo Mascarello Baroli, I limit purchases to 3 per person. If you're a collector and want more of this vintage, let's talk.
Purchase Limit: 3 bottles per buyer
Bottle Size: 750ml

These folks certainly know their stuff. I asked them for suggestions on wineries to visit in Chianti, and they came back with a fantastic list of great places to visit. We had a great time. Bravo!Phil Bloomberg
