Bruno Giacosa is known for their powerful reds, but their Arneis white is fabulous. This is the best Arneis I've found, and I've tasted dozens of vintages over the past 12 months. You pay a little more, but the experience is worth it.
This gem from the molto gentile 2015 vintage year has aromas of yellow and red apples, peach, honeysuckle, touch of honeydew melon on the finish, and a more pleasing acidity than the searing 2014 vintage. This wine has a remarkably long finish.
I consider this a summer wine (and it has arrived just in time) that pairs wonderfully with prosciutto-wrapped melon, grilled light-fleshed fishes like trout, black cod, and snapper, or serve it up with spaghetti al pesto (add some grilled shrimp for a match made in heaven).
Half of my shipment of this 2015 Roero Arneis was pre-sold, and I may only be able to get one more small shipment at this price. If you're in the mood for tasting a Giacosa white, this is the best vintage and opportunity.
