2015 Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo from Emidio Pepe? Oh yeah baby, this rose wine is impossible to find in the US. The importer doesn’t bring it over, so the Italians happily drink it all up. Until now.
These are fresh bottles imported directly from Italy where Emidio Pepe releases only in Italy. Now you can join them too, exclusively through Dall’Uva.
This is my favorite rosato in all of Italy. Pepe fans who’ve traveled in Italy know that this is truly extraordinary. Made from Montepulciano grapes made in a white wine style. They crush the grapes by foot (yes, that’s right) and then they ferment without skin contact, resulting in a gorgeous pink wine the color of light cranberry juice.
Bright cherry and cranberry flavors with a touch of savoriness that gives it remarkable complexity. Lovely minerality with remarkable balance, this wine could even be considered a contemplation wine. Pairs with anything from the land or sea.
This wine is meant for warm weather drinking. Pop a bottle with friends and watch people swoon. Seriously. Watch out, though… it’s 14.5%.
I seriously thought about keeping all of these bottles for myself. 😉 Salute!
