Grown in Sergio Germano's vineyards in the south of the Dogliani appellation, this is a higher-altitude Chardonnay (at nearly 1,500 feet) in a relatively cool climate with limestone soils, eastern exposure, and a superb white wine terroir. The fruit is picked in small boxes, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Half of the wine is put through malolactic fermentation to round out the acidity somewhat, and the wine is aged in stainless steel, then bottled in May of 2014.
Fresh, appley and very bright Chardonnay, superb with shellfish, grilled tuna, chicken Caesar salad, and light creamy cheeses like camembert and brie.
