I can't say I've been much of a Pinot Grigio fan. Until now.
Mario Schiopetto ("skee-oh-PAY-toh") makes some modern style white wines in Friuli that just rock. This gorgeous, golden Pinot Grigio is delicious, with ripe yellow apple, bosc pear, apricot and a touch of tropical fruits, like banana, star fruit and passion fruit, and nuances of honey. With very nice acidty, this is a crowd pleaser and is super food friendly.
I'd pair this beauty with creamy pasta dishes, grilled fish or roast chicken, or just drink it solo while enjoying a warm spring or summer evening.
