This is a biggy made by the late, great Antonio Mastroberardino. Deliciously warm red cherries, brambly blackberries, with a delightful earthiness and a touch of licorice on the finish.
Radici fans will be happy to know that this 1998 Taurasi Riserva is ready to drink now, and can lay down for another 10+ years.
I’d pair this with roasted meats like lamb scottadito, rich beef and venison stews, or not-too-lean pork chops grilled with herbes de Provence. This is fantastic with freshly grilled porcini mushrooms.
