Elio Ottin gets top awards year-after-year for his 4 flagship wines (this Fumin red wine and his Pinot Noir, Torrette Superieur and Petite Arvine). I was lucky to be able to get his wines, direct from his cantina, upon release after tasting them just last summer.
Intense, full-bodied with juicy tannins and nice acidity, the palate is a riot of ripe blackberries and currants and a wonderful maraschino cherry nuance. The finish is lengthy and immensely pleasurable.
