Down a sleepy cobblestone street in the center of Asti, you'll find the herbaceous digs of Mauro Vergano who brews up some of the most interesting Chinato and Vermouth aromatized wines in all of Italy.
This unique play on a classic is made on a base of Grignolino (pronounced “green-yoh-LEE-noh”) grapes, it's a more floral Chinato with violets, orange peel, cola, vanilla undertones with fennel, nutmeg, and a touch of mint. Tasty.
Mauro makes his aromatized wines at a higher alcohol level than most, so this will last quite some time after opening. Just 150 cases made.
