Mauro Vergano is an ex-chemist who just so happens to make some of the best Chinato aromatized wines in all of Italy. Seriously, this is good stuff.
Made on a base of Nebbiolo (from the Rabajà area of Barbaresco), this explodes on the palate with cardamom, cinnamon, wild thyme, amarena cherry, vanilla, anise, and a touch of menthol.
Mauro makes his aromatized wines at a higher alcohol level than most, so this will last quite some time after opening. Just 150 cases made.
