Produttori del Barbaresco is a winemaking cooperative with 50 families sharing their Nebbiolo grapes to make some of the best Langhe Nebbiolo you can buy — and at a great price.
I tasted this 2015 vintage at the Produttori cantina in October of 2016, and was instantly enamored with this fresh Langhe Nebbiolo. Aged just 6 months in large botti, you really get to taste the delicious Nebbiolo fruit. Dark red cherries and plums with floral notes of violets and a touch of wild fennel come through on the palate. Tannins are modestly there, but not as substantial as in their normal Barbaresco. As Produttori’s entry level Nebbiolo, you get a lot for the price.
Definitely drinkable now. Great paired with grilled beef steaks, roast pork, or even a pepperoni pizza. This wine really is versatile in what you pair it with.
