Nice Valpolicella with an Amarone profile, but without the Amarone price.
Aromatic on the nose and delicious on the palate, with strawberries, black cherry, dried plum, fig, balsam, black earth, good tannins and structure. This is drinkable now, and would also benefit from a year or two laying down.
I'd pair it with flank steak, grilled simply with salt and pepper. Could go well with aged Parmiggiano Reggiano with a drop of old Balsamico. This is a very nice wine, and a great value.
