Much more approachable today than the unicorn 2010 vintage, the 2009 Bartolo is perfect to enjoy now with succulent red cherry juices, anise, dried rose, carnations, tobacco. This comes in at a decent price for such a grand producer, I’d share this with good friends over a fine meal of grilled veal chops.
Collectors, please note: This is direct from Barolo, flown over and babied in my temp-controlled warehouse. Provenance doesn’t get any better than this.
This wine will lay down for another 15-20 years; Personally, I’d drink this by 2025. Or tonight.
