This September, my husband and I will be staying at the Hotel Palazzo Squarcialupi, located in Castellina, Chianti. We will have a car.
Most of the winery tours leave from Florence or Siena. Is it better to go without a tour guide to the local wineries, rather than a guided tour since we won't be staying in the big cities? If so, do you have any suggestions on wineries where we can get a nice tour in English? If it's better to book a guided tour, do you know of any that pick us up from our hotel directly in Chianti?
