Many of our fans love Italian travel, and we’re often asked for recommendations on wine-tasting venues, the best time of year to visit the wine-making regions, and which regional food & wine sagra and festa are the must-see Italian festivals.
I’ve traveled to Bella Italia over a hundred times since I first visited this passionate country back in 1995, and I am never shy to offer my frank opinions on the Best of Italy from a wine, food and cultural perspective. All of this has me thinking: Maybe we should create a community forum for fellow lovers of all-things-Italian who want to explore and share their favorite experiences on the road in Italy.
“What a great idea!” he says. The only question is, what do people really want in a gastro-oenological (food and wine) travel forum? Surely there are websites that specialize in Italian travel – the folks at slowtravel talk have a pretty good forum for general travel questions, and it’s inhabited by many talented travel professionals – but not necessarily wine buffs and foodies.
